KATRINA NOTICE FOR SECTION 8 VOUCHER HOLDERS
JEFFERSON PARISH, ORLEANS PARISH,
AND ST. BERNARD PARISH

Jefferson Parish Section 8 Housing Program is operational after Hurricane Katrina and wants Section 8 Voucher Holders from Jefferson Parish, Orleans Parish and St. Bernard Parish to know that THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE HOUSING IN JEFFERSON PARISH IS LIVEABLE and there are available units to replace the damaged properties. We encourage all Jefferson Parish Section 8 Voucher Holders to contact us so we can help them return home. We also encourage Section 8 Voucher Holders from Orleans Parish (which includes New Orleans) and St. Bernard Parish to bring their vouchers to Jefferson Parish.
Jefferson Parish Section 8 Housing Program is asking all affected landlords and Section 8 Voucher Holders to immediately register at www.jeffparishsection8.org or through email at firstname.lastname@example.org to update their housing status. Landlords with available properties may also register at this website, which is updated regularly. Recorded information will be available at (504) 366-5344.
Jefferson Parish Section 8 Housing program services more than 2,700 families in areas affected by the disaster, including Avondale, Barataria, Bridge City, Crown Point, Grand Isle, Gretna, Harahan, Harvey, Lafitte, Marrero, Metairie, River Ridge, Terrytown, Waggaman and Westwego.
